This was a solo ride on Sunday 14 March 2004 from Cape Town over Sir Lowry's Pass through Grabouw and Franschoek, and then back via Stellebosch to Cape Town (about 170km). It was a pretty uneventful ride except when I put my bike on it's side stand at the top of Franschoek pass to get a photo of it with the valley in the background - the ground was sloping and the bike started rolling forward. I was not sure whether I should jump off or try save the bike!! Luckily it was not that close to the edge and I could turn the wheel and take a slightly safer photo...... The weather was very hot so I did not stop as much as I would have liked for photo's and many areas were very dry.
