A Major Bank I am sure many of you have experienced this problem! Have you tried changing your address and discovered that each account and each magazine etc with the same company, each needs its own notification? Well in my banks case I had to notify the following:
I started off trying e-mail which did not work. I then wrote a letter to each of these offices on 6th May 1999. In July I still received a statement from the "package" account with the old address on. I explained to them that I had changed the address in writing. You won't believe this but they said they see the address was changed for my OLD credit card that was lost. Yes, I said it was lost because you sent it to the old address AFTER I had changed it. Now the replacement card was again registered on the old address. Wow, some people do not learn! Well, I have now phoned, faxed, mailed, etc and now I am going to just leave it. If they make a scene I will happily fill their name in on this page for all to see. I have really done more than my bit. It has cost me more than R45 to send postal address changes, and more than R25 ($4) worth of long distance phone calls to this bank alone to try change my address. My suggestion today 6 July 1999 to Victor at their customer care was to register addresses centrally in a data warehouse and draw the data from there. It would save the clients a lot of trouble, and surely would be more accurate, save banking time, etc. He promised to investigate it. Well no feedback or results, but I did not set my hopes on it. None of these opinions in any way reflect those of my employer. These pages are entirely private. |
